by Veronica Shine
Love truly does make the world go around. But what may seem
commonplace as a tradition to you can seem unusual elsewhere in the
world. No longer content with run of the mill, those planning their
weddings want to be distinctive and unique. And, what better way to
obtain the essence than finding a few ideas that will make your day
truly special?
Here’s a glimpse at some favorite traditions from Europe that you
may wish to add as a special tradition for fresh details to your own
wedding.
Swedish Wedding Traditions
Have a gold coin received from your mother and a silver one from
your father before departing for the church as Swedes do with this
cute tradition. The gold coin is placed in the right shoe and the
silver one in the left to ensure that you will never go
without. After the vows are exchanged, wear three bands representing
the past, present and future on your wedding finger. One is an
engagement ring, another is the wedding ring and the third is a ring
for motherhood. (More)

In Denmark, the cornucopia cake is made with almonds and
marzipan. On the outside, the cake is beautifully decorated with
sugar work. On the inside it is filled with fresh fruit, candy and
almond cakes.
